It is assumed that you have gone over the lesson "SUBTRACTING POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE NUMBERS." If you have not, please go to this lesson now.

HOW TO USE THE MODULE BELOW

1) First, if you don't see the Flash module below you need to download the flash plugin here.
2) Click the button that says "First Click Me To Generate A Pair Of Integers."
3) Get out a piece of paper and write down how subtraction can be written as addition. Then check your answer by clicking the button that says "Click Button To Rewrite Subtraction As Addition." Is your answer the same? Hope so!
4) Now determine what your result will be by moving Dude according to the added integers.
REMEMBER DUDE IS DESIGNED TO ADD SIGNED NUMBERS, NOT SUBTRACT!
THAT IS WHY YOU CHANGE SUBTRACTION TO ADDITION.
5) Now click the button that says "Click Button To See Answer."
6) Before you start the next problem click the button that says "Click Button To Clear All."
