For browsers I recommend Firefox or Internet Explorer or the new Safari Browser PLEASE READ WELL: Java is needed in order to use GeoGebra. Please download Java using the above link.
GeoGebra's major use is for education in secondary schools that want to join geometry, algebra and calculus. You can do constructions with points, vectors, segments, lines, and conic sections. GeoGebra allows you to enter a function, place points on the function, construct secant lines with points on the function, etc. etc. etc. GeoGebra has the ability to deal with variables for numbers, vectors and points, find derivatives and integrals of functions and offers commands like Root or Extremum. Wow! This is an amazing interactive tool and it is here at Deering Math and ANYONE can use it for free! Of course there is a learning curve in the use of Geogebra. But the effort put in will return knowledge exponentially. That's quite a fair exchange. At the links above you can get the GeoGebra manual online to help you in the learning process. You can also download the manual in pdf form; and if you wish you can order the manual for the very fair price of $10.00. In the online manual there are a number of tutorials. Also there are a number of GeoGebra modules that can be downloaded at the GeoGebra Wiki. And if you get stuck there is also the very active GeoGebra Forum where you can meet some great people from all over the world and that is really cool. I ask for you patience. My goal is to have a number of tutorials available here. But as with all things - all good things in time...and yes, it does take time to develop tutorials. Before you start playing with the module below go to the Geogebra Window Tutorials. THE GEOGEBRA INTERACTIVE MODULE IS BELOW
